Term 3

We have had a lovely start to Term 3 and all the children have been working hard.

In Literacy we have been looking at traditional stories and the children have particularly enjoyed learning about the three little pigs, Jack and the beanstalk and Rapunzel. For the next two weeks we will be focusing on pirate stories and the children will be creating their own pirate character, setting and adventure! We will also be designing our own pirate flags.

In Maths this term we have continued our work on money and have also introduced the children to multiplication. Lots of the children have been beginning to work on their times tables at home, which is helping them. We have also looked at block graphs and pictograms and have focused on interpreting data from the graphs we have drawn. In the coming weeks we will be learning about hundreds, tens and units, rounding to the nearest 10 and addition and subtraction.

Forest school continues to excite and thrill us all. We have had a fabulous time making ‘blobsters’ and bird feeders and making a camp fire to roast marshmallows around. The children are now beginning to explore their own ideas for activities in Forest school and we have seen some very impressive dens and bug houses and hotels!
